Dam Swindle’s The B.Os.T.On EP was originally released in 2012 on Geddes’ label Murmur Records. The label had a good run since its start in 2008, with releases from Lewie Day (now Tornado Wallace) Mic Newman, Simon Baker and Groove Armada, but stopped releasing music after 2015. The B.Os.T.On EP is quite a deep EP compared to their other early releases, with the title track good deep into a bubbly acid-tinged groove. The Damiano von Erckert remix goes even deeper with its moody chords and classic percussion. On the flip, there’s the bumpy 808 track ‘Her song’ and the sample chops of Autumnia to complete one of the first Dam Swindle records and maybe the most overlooked EP of those starting years. The EP is now available again through Heist Recordings with a potential vinyl rerelease coming up.
It was in 2011 that Dutch pair Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets quickly broke through in the electronic music scene. Since then they have become known for their widescreen approach to making and playing club-ready grooves.
