The ‘Passion’ EP was Dam Swindle’s venture into deeper sonic territory on Tsuba back in 2013. With the r’n b-goes-deephouse cut ‘Sometimes and the nasty basement banger ‘That freak stuff’, the duo went from their woozy, uplifting songs into a more contemplative direction. Emphasizing this direction even more, the release came with a brilliant remix by the late Soulphiction. Turn to 2023 and we see the duo re-release these classics on their own Heist Recordings imprint. On top of these 3 tracks, a ‘secret’ mix by Soulphiction is added, as well as Dam Swindle’s 707 style remake of ‘Sometimes’, aptly titled ‘Not another sometimes’.
